Oh Goodness, the kids get to post

I must preface this by saying three things: First, this was hard for The Girl, she was very concerned with hurting my feelings. When I assured her that it was OK, and I wouldn't be hurt she let things be honestly known. The Boy did not feel such pressure. Second, I asked the kids these questions independantly, so as to not have them influence each other. Third, I want to, for the purposes of clarification, say that The Mister and I are a very playful couple. I thought about changing one answer in particular, but it's the truth; the unfiltered, playful truth.

With that said, here is the gut-wrenchingly honest look at Kellie the Coffeegal through the eyes of her children. The Girl's answers are in pink. The Boy's in blue.

Take a shower
To wake up in the morning.

When we are cooking and I grate cheese and she says to "Be careful, we don't want finger bits in the there"

Taking care of us, being a mom

12. What is your mom not very good at?

My little toe is different than hers (she doesn't have pinky toe nails.)

20. How do you know your mom loves you?
Because she care for me and kisses me and hugs me when I am sad.
All sorts of different ways. She tucks me in at night, and today she let me eat four muffins. She also just tells me she loves me.

He's handsome and cute and lovable. Not one of those stuck up guys. He's a nice guy.
That he spanks her.

Cracker Barrel
Hawaii

Niiiiiice. :) Let me guess which one you were going to change! I did this with Ellie for facebook. Zach was definitely not in the mood. Anyway, I was a little nervous with that question. The girl walked in on us once and has, ever since, been talking about "silly daddy wrestling mommy" and how she can't wait to get married to play fun naked games. I think that secures my "mother of the year" status. :)

The boy's answer about the toenail made me laugh. The girl's answers are so very sweet. She seems to have such a soft heart - I LOVE that! Playfulness is good . . . I loved the answer. We are playful here also and I think those things are good for the kids to see:)

SPANKING?!!! Sorry, had to put that in caps just in case someone glossed over it:)

Seriously, this is such a look-see huh??? I think it's GREAT!

Mine said the SAME thing about going outside...but what I loved is that neither of them said anything about you being on the computer...

Their answers were both sooo sweet and wordy--I love that!! They had a lot to say (in a good way, of course)

#21?? It is GETTING all of us!! ;) But, I think it's good that our children see us loving, playing, etc. and MAN, did I BUST out...I thought Juju's "lips" answer was a little "whoa"...this took the cake, er, coffee..if you prefer!!

Glad you shared this with us..really, so sweet.

Kellie...I'm SO behind on your blog, but I had to come and read this post. I'm so glad I did.

Your kids are precious, and it seems like you guys know each other well. I though their answers were so cute! The one about Kona rolling in poop was super funny!

Love the part about the finger bits!

I'm a new reader and haven't read a whole lot of your old posts. I didn't realize you homeschooled. We are this year for the first time. It has been a blessed, amazing, terrifying, difficult, happy, crazy thing for us. Can you tell by that if I'm doing it correctly or not?

This is so sweet and pretty darn funny too!

Did you give your daughter a big kiss for saying you were only 20?

That is so sweet! Cute that she didn't want to hurt your feelings! I did this with my son, of course he is much younger, it was cute:) Maybe I will put it on my blog. I got the note on facebook.

Oh, my side is really hurting from the laughter!! I just want to say that was a really adorable blog. And I might just work up the nerve to try some of those questions on my kids, just for kicks. Maybe. (:

Okay, I have to pipe in like everyone else and say something about the spanking. That's hilarious. And good. I agree with everyone in that I think it's so good for our kids to see us being playful and "having fun" in our marriage. That's great!

I love the difference between the boys answers and the girls. Your daughter definitely is sensitive and your son seems pretty matter of fact. Your toes are different?

I'm going to have to try this with my kids. I know they'll say something similar about me not playing outside with them too.

OMGoodness this was adorable! What a fun idea! I laughed so hard at this one: What does your mom do when you're not around?

Probably do things that she can't do with us, like take a shower,

That's great. I did that on Facebook, and my kids' answers were hysterical.

That Boy is perceptive! But now you might have to change your blog name to something about coffee and spanking!

So funny! I loved their answers. I think this is such a great meme. I would love to do it with my kids.

And... "be careful we don't want finger bits in there" -- that absolutely cracked me up. I don't think I'll ever grate cheese again without thinking about that! :)

I had no idea that you and the mister played "spank me baby"!

I've seen this one around...I love your kids answers! I'm always warning about finger bits in the grated cheese, too. I can't tell you how many piles of cheese I've thrown out because I've grated half my knuckle off. Ow.

He spanks you?...that's a rather telling answer! :) Love it.
