Light and Fluffy

Perhaps my "thinky-ness" in the last few weeks has scared you.

My thoughts have been more introspective lately, it always happens to me this time of year.

However, when ever I get too "heavy" in my writing, my subscribers and readers drop like flies.

Its actually funny... I won't blog for 7 days in a row and I'll have 6 new subscribers. Then I'll blog consistently, with a few deep thoughts thrown in, and every body changes their mind!

Maybe its a coincidence, maybe its not. Honestly, "thinky" is who I am, and I know that that isn't everyones thing, so I am truly OK with a few readers clicking somewhere else, but fluffy is good too. Being serious all the time is for squares. I like to think that my corners are more rounded... or at least I try to round'em out from time to time.  :)

So today we'll go "light and fluffy."

~Today I went to the dentist with tooth pain (so much for 'light and fluffy'). I took my credit card because these sort of things never end well.

Turned out I just bruised the tissue around a recent root canal. (who knew eating granola could be so dangerous!) But the appointment went well. No needles, no drama. No bill when I walked out the door!

That has NEVER happened to me at the dentists office. NEVER.

So that was very light and fluffy! Especially on The Mister's wallet. Win-win, all around!

~ Last Sunday I was on my way to pick up the kids from youth group when I got a text from my teenage son that simply read: Bring a towel.

How do you respond to something like that? I told him next time he should add a little detail:

Found a kitten. Bring a towel.

or

Having fun! Bring a towel.

or

Profusely bleeding. Bring a towel.

Seriously, there is a full spectrum of towel needs, and a mom in her minivan, unable to text back needs a little more detail...

~ Hey, how about a little de-lurking?

Do you read this blog? Why? How did you find it? Are you a crafter, a blogger, a homeschooler, a stalker?

Inquiring minds want to know...

All right, tomorrow at this time I will be full-swing into my Fall Break Adventure! Pictures and stories to come!

Don't forget to de-lurk!

Can't scare me away...Thinky is my MO at times, too. My stats are pitiful & always have been. I dont think I have a consistent hook, nor a consistent blog habit. But it's there for me when I want to journal.

As for my demographic: I'm a one -time home schooling mom. Both kids are currently in private schools, now. And I would quilt &scrap all day if I had the time. And watch Bravo w/girlfriends on the weekends, whilst filling my pie hole w/Kellie Crack.

Did I scare off anyone for ya? Hope not. ;-)

I am not a lurker.

I am not scared of thinking or Gretchen.

Before I met you, I read this blog because I liked what you did with words. I still read because of that, but now I also read because you are my friend. And because sometimes you give me recipes.

I am a want to be-crafter, want-to-be blogger, a one-time homeschooler who always leaves that door partially open,. Not a stalker.

I enjoy your thought-provoking posts (sorry, I can't bring myself to use the word "thinky"), and often star them to return to comment when I have a quiet moment at the laptop (then forget or can't add something pity to the discussion). I read because I really like you and usually feel like I've learned something here.

The towel cracks me up! At least your first thoughts weren't "Potty accident! Bring a towel!" or "Spilled juice all over myself! Being a towel!"

I used to be a regular reader and then dropped out when I skinnied down my blog list and here I am again - enjoying the light and fluffy and the deeper thoughts. I am a crafter, a blogger and maybe a bit of a lurker.

I think I found your blog through CPQ. I'm a fellow crochet crafter, homeschooler, blogger, and coffee lover. I love every.single.one of your posts. I wish I could comment on all of them, but my current job situation has me stretched beyond anything I can comprehend.

So glad the dentist was fluffy...and will there be a follow up post on the need for the towel??

yikes more details needed on the bring towel.. so why did he need a towel?

Yes I read.. why.. because you are awesome.. I think you found me.. but not sure.. crafter - check, blogger - check, homeschoooler - check, and stalker - well I have met you.. you be the judge of that ;-)

I've been reading for a while - both the light and the not so light stuff. You have a way with words. I found you by clicking a link from another blog I read. I'm a crafter of all things paper (mostly scrapbooking). I'm a teacher - kindergarten this year. First time for everything, they say.

I've probably been reading for about 2 years. I want to say that I didn't really get into the blogging world until right after I got married. So that was 2 1/2 years ago! I came from Whimz and CPQ :) And, merely as a side note, I just dipped my fingers into my Dr Pepper while I was trying to reach into the Pringles can...all because I was re-reading! Story of my life... :)

I'm a "part-time" blogger (GOT to get my mojo back on!) now.
I was honored to be invited by you (before I was a blogger) to a bloggers' get-together because I was a consistent follower/commenter. And I've loved getting to know you!
I'm a crafter has-been: I used to do lots of crafts of all kinds (but no crocheting) & have loads of supplies to prove it. When I started having trouble (then surgery) with my hands a couple of years ago I was unable to do them, then it was painful, then I lost interest.
I was a home-schooler... 25 yrs. ago when it was very new and there were few of us. I lasted 1 1/2 yrs. with my one child who wanted to do it (NewEveryAM wanted NO part of it!)
I like the variety you have on your blog & enjoy your "thinky" moments. I've never been a lurker...

I'm a little bit of a lurker. I'm usually pretty good about reading (except for the past few months), but rarely hit the "comment" button, which I know isn't right. I'm sitting here making up for it today! SO excited to catch up on some blogs!!

And you didn't say... what was the towel for??

I love reading your blog because it helps me stay in touch with you and your family even though we don't see each other often. Also, you often make me laugh out loud, which is always good! Hope to see you soon...we have just a few more Belgian chocolates that we could eat over a Starbucks with EW!
