Last week I was very concerned because our copy/fax/printer/scanner wouldn't work properly.
( I was also griping, because I buy elastic pony-tail holders by the dozens, but can't ever find one when I need it.)
Finally, on Sunday, we had a moments time to sit down before lunch to figure out the issue with the machine.
And by "we" I mean, The Mister.
He got out the manual, and Q-tips, and cleaning solution, and pushed buttons, and cleaned rollers, and did a bunch of really cool and official looking stuff.
(Have I mentioned lately that he's exceedingly handsome when he's trying to save the day? Which he does very often....but digress.)
His diagnosis?
We might have to take it to an "'official dealer" to solve the problem.
All I could hear was "ka-ching!" ringing in my ears. Of course this would happen right before Christmas.
We decided to go drown our sorrows in a turkey sandwich.
After lunch he went back to the machine, just to take one last look.
Within a few moment he starts to laugh.
Not that funny "hee-hee-hee!"-- this is hysterical laugh.
It's the "ha, ha, ha"-- I cannot believe what I just found in this expensive machine laugh.
He reached into the depths of the inner workings and pulled out a black, elastic pony tail holder.
Oops.
And now?
The machine works like a charm. Better than ever.
What have I learned from this?
I've learned to always take one last look, and as a bonus, I figured out why my hair accessories are disappearing.
The copy/fax/scanner/printer machine is eating my elastic pony tail holders.
(Since I am not entirely sure I can blame the kids for this issue, that's my story and I sticking to it.)
Happy Wednesday!

Hahahaha!
Cracks me up. Because my household items are always eating my stuff, too.
LOL o my!! My hair ties then to walk away as well. Also what is w/ these elastics bands w/ no metal in them. They get all stretched out in about 3 uses! Glad The Mister was able to fix the machine.
cute story :-)
I'm glad it was an easy fix.
Wow, maybe my ponytail holders are going to your house to eaten....that explains it all!
I agree with Lindsay, whats with hair ties being worn out after 3 uses..??
I too, buy bags of hair ties and never can find one....
That is a priceless story!! I vote the printer eats your hair elastics ;)
I'm just wondering how the ponytail holder got into the printer!? Very funny :-)
Bwahahahaha!
Maybe I should look for my ponies in my printer too. I always just figured they go the same place as all the socks we lose.
Hahahaha...
We can never find them either no matter how many I buy. Surely, they are not in our coffee maker ???
Is that where they all go??? Ah Ha!
Cute story and a happy ending!
With 3 girls in the house, we have ponytail holders EVERYWHERE. And yet, I am constantly needing to buy more because we can't find any when we need them. Maybe I should look in our printer ;)
CRACKING ALL THE WAY UP!!! HAHAHAHAHA
You just never know, huh? I will remember to check for the unexpected. I'm glad you figured it out!
I, too, am trying to picture how it got there. Did it just POP out of your hair and into the printer? Did you toss it in there with wild abandon? You don't have a cat. Otherwise you could so say the cat placed it in there. They'll do that.
Hunh. It's up there with Stonehenge and crop circles, if you ask me.
I keep buying brushes, too, b/c we can never find them. Perhaps I'll look in my printer. Can't hurt.
