Did You Think I Forgot?

Happy St. Patricks Day!

I know I'm a day late, but yesterday I had a little Shamrock party with my favorite triplets and their mom.

Other than eating some of Mr CPQ's brisket, drinking Cherry Limeade's and getting a good (and amazingly ((mostly)) un-interrupted) time to chat about everything and nothing with the CarpoolQueen, my favorite part was this:
Trav and Penny sniffled and bonded together and it was, quite frankly, the sweetest thing I'd seen all week.

Eventually Travis had had enough and promptly went to my computer and fixed it of the slugging/slow problem we have been having as of late. I'm not going to tell CPQ about this lest she figures out she is housing a computer genius and begins to charge technologically challenged people like myself large fees. So let's just keep this our secret.

Next time I promise to get pics of the other kids too. Truth be known, its not because we don't think they are cute too, its just that they kind of disappeared upstairs and we didn't see much of them.

And honestly, when they are happy why stop things for a photo-op?

So we had a good day and time got away and I never blogged....

Yesterday I had planned on giving away a small knitted hand towel I am working on, but it isn't finished. And just between you and me, in a strange turn of events I think I actually want to keep this one.

Since it seems that aprons are a big hit, I am going to give another one away....

In the spirit of the American wear green on St. Patty's Day tradition...How about this one?

For this comment entry tell me if you lean towards cooking or baking? Neither? Both? From a box? Scratch?

You know the drill: you don't have to be a blogger, but you do have to have a valid email address.....yadda, yadda, yadda.

I hope you are having a awesome day!

First of all, thanks for offering another one of your beautiful aprons... I rather cooking than baking. I like to cook Southern dishes...stews, gumbos, jambalayas, etc. Most of the time I do not have recipes. I just try to remember how my Mom (the best cook I ever known) and used to cook things and then I cook. I love to feed a large group and I love to see someone enjoy their meal that I prepared.

I prefer to cook as opposed to bake, but you know that since we had this discussion yesterday over rainbow cupcakes with boatloads of icing.

One thing I don't cook? Rabbit. Because there are just eighteen kinds of wrong things about cooking and eating something so fluffy and adorable.

Thanks for letting us love all over Penny. I hope she's gotten over the shock.

Your aprons are gorgeous. I go through phases with my cooking/baking interests. Right now I'm on a cooking kick. Especially fish. Give me a good piece of salmon and I'll go crazy!

I like to cook more than I like to bake. But I do both. And I LOVE the apron! You're amazing.

PS Did your thread come?

Love your apron! I cook more than I bake, mostly because I have more mess-ups baking than cooking. I'd love to do it more, and I know my daughters would love to be my helpers. Perhaps we need matching aprons? I'll have to check out your store on that one. :) Glad you had a good day!

My preference: baking
Which one I do much more often: cooking
Why?: because usually baking involves sweets that I don't need to have around the house otherwise I would eat too much to them! And cooking is a necessity, especially with my husband's good appetite :)

I like cooking Thanksgiving dinner & celebratory breakfasts. Other than that, I hang up the apron as often as possible. But I still want (another of your) apron(s) b/c I have t feed these people whether I like it or not, & I might as well look cute. And I kinda like baking, but more for the sugar rush it affords me rather than enjoying it just in general.

Lurve the pics of Mr. T w/Penny. So sweet.

Love the pictures!

I would rather bake..some of my favorites are pound cakes, brownies, oatmeal cookies, and banana pudding.

I would take special care of that sweet apron..I promise!

I like to bake more than cooking BUT I'm probably better at the cooking...Baking tends to be an exact science and I'm more of a throw-it-all-in-a-pot kinda gal. I do enjoy making bread, though...and that apron looks like it would go great with bread-making. :)

baking...from scratch...the best.

I want to learn how to cook better...my kid want me learn too! :)

Baking. For sure. My kitchen is full of yummy goodness especially during the fall and winter. I don't like it too much when someone tries to diet (including me!). That's just no fun!

Ooh, that apron rocks!

I love both, but probably right now I would say baking. I made a blueberry pie a few days ago that tasted like summer. :)

Baking, spatulas down.
Brownies, cakes, cookies, pie...do you sense a pattern here?
I love sweets...carbs...ooey gooey goodness.

Cooking seems boring to me.

Baking=celebrations, love, comfort.

Yes. I have issues.

darlin' bunny and boy!!

i know it's your party week but I'm so jealous that you met CPQ on the blog and just HAPPENED to be neighbors...amazing.

i'm definitely more of a baker than a cook but I love both of them and I can jazz up things from a box or do it totally from scratch...I can go either way..I'm bi-kitchual I guess! ;)

Love love love the apron!

Definitely cooking. Baking is too exact for me. Well, actually, I could honestly say that I can't bake. But doesn't it sound better to say that I prefer cooking??

:)

What a precious picture of the bunny and the boy!!!

I definitely cook more than bake. . .mainly b/c if I bake it, we EAT it. . ALL. . . in one day. . . if not in one hour. I prefer things from scratch 'cause I like to be all healthy. . . but I have a few boxes in the pantry to whip up if I'm in a pickle.

The apron is beautiful.

I love to cook AND bake...and eat what I've cooked and baked. It's just the dishes that all the cooking and baking create that steal some of the joy from all the cooking, baking and eating. It's always great, though, to try a new recipe and succeed. And I must admit I was intrigued by CPQ's description of those rainbow cupcakes--sounds like a great idea.

I generally prefer cooking over baking. I do both the box thing (hello Hamburger Helper) and cook from scratch. The scratch thing is pretty new to me but I'm having fun with it (as are my guys who are BIG eaters). I would love a new "Kellie-inspired" apron to join me in the kitchen in my new adventures :-) (Hint hint).

Oh so so sweet. Great pics.

Always cooking. Baking is way to exact for me. I normally mess things up. BUT, I love baked goods very much indeed.

I cook more from scratch than buy from a box except for frozen pizzas and mac & cheese. I can make both but my kids really don't like mine any better so I concede here. ;)

Definitely cooking! To me there's more of a margin of error which I appreciate. I enjoy baking sometimes but am never too satisfied with how things turn out, unless its one of those proven recipes on the back of the hersheys cocoa or something;)

And the apron is beautiful. And the pictures are precious!:)

Love the sweet picture!
And love the new apron!
I like to cook and bake, & do most from scratch (but do use box cake mixes, usually to add other things to for a more "exciting" recipe.) I don't make desserts unless we have someone to share it with... or we will eat it all.

I love to bake, but I eat it, so I've stopped lately.
But I LOVE to bake! (Cooking is fun too, except when I'm in a cooking funk)

oooo love that apron! Hmm well I have to cook dinner almost everynight.. but I usually try and make it as quick as possible (from scratch because I'm cheap). However, I enjoy baking much more just don't do it as often.. because lets me honest if I baked everyday.. well lets just not picture what that would do to me :-P

This is probably too late but I love both cookin and bakin, bein southern and all. I get it very honestly from my sweet mother, who also sews and quilts up a storm, but I didn't inherit that gene. That is why I would love the apron!

I do both, though, I cook much more often than I bake. The boys in our house don't like sweets, so if I bake, Ellie and I are the only ones who eat it. Being the responsible mom that I am, I can't let a 6-year-old have too many sweets, which means I eat them all myself. These hips can only take so much. ;)

Sweet T and Penny pictures! I can't show them to my children or they will want to add a pet to our household. They already say wistfully, "I wish to have a baby meerkat."
