Weekend Haiku
Early Saturday.
Sipping Coffee. Half awake.
Long run in thirty minutes.
Week was good. Very good.
Friends. Work. Play. More friends. Laugh.
Engaged and alive.
(Coffee now in blood.
Took many minutes to write
The last two stanzas.)
Have I mentioned that
Coffee makes me feel normal.
Addiction? Not me.
Enjoy, appreciate
Savor. Drink it in each day.
Addict? Well, maybe.
This weekend we rest.
Preparing for big trip west,
To see family; friends.
Oh! the time has come.
Must lace up runners and go.
Hope to run like wind.
(Have a great weekend y'all!)

I feel the pressure
to commment creatively
to be just like you.
You would laugh to know
I am still in my pjs
and on my first cup.
Yes, it's after eight
But I had to catch up from
a sleep deprived week.
can't even pretend to rock a comment like CPQ.
*thunderous applause for both of you*
Hot coffee,
sanity in a cup.
After nine,
I am sleep deprived, too.
Happy thoughts,
So glad he's home today.
Almost done,
Have a great Saturday!
You and your poet friends are too much!
haha love your haiku - and i love cpq's comment :-)
Awesome haiku, Kelli. Impressive.
One day when we come to visit our friends in NC I'm going to come to your house so that we can do a long run together. One day...
