Wear Your Apron Day

Are your wearing your apron today?

I am.
Its Wear Your Apron Day in celebration of National Apron Day, and lucky for me I got a new apron yesterday for Mother's Day (pictured above).

Its funny, I have made (and given away) a TON of aprons...here are just a few.

...but only own a few myself.

Although I love homemade, I've admired this one from Williams & Sonoma for a couple of weeks. Luckily I have a smart daughter who remembers things I point out while shopping.

She also enjoys setting a nice table. While my equally smart son...
... likes taking pictures in fun, artsy, angles.

Ok, enough of my shameless plugging of people who treat me kindly.

Head on over to The Apronista to check out other proud apron wearers today!

And, if you have lot of time on your hands, you can read this short post. Which will tell you why I love aprons so very much (and will show you a few more aprons I have made)!

Happy Apron Wearing!

I never even knew there WAS such a wonderful day! I'm going to grab an apron right after this comment.

Oh, my word, Kellie! Those aprons you made are incredible! Wow, sister! You could easily have a little cottage industry making aprons if you wanted. Love the one with the scallops and the L! I love all of them, actually.

And I would have picked that exact WS apron. I truly love those aprons. Anthropologie has some beautiful ones that I envy as well.

Happy Apron Wearing Day, friend! You wear yours so well!

My apron is a Mickey Mouse one that I fell in love with on our last trip to the Mouse House in Orlando. I really like that it's red and black and hides every blasted stain.

And I am soooo jealous of your craftiness.

I have two aprons...one is cute...one is plain, but I love them! Think I'll go put it on and get in my work groove.

BTW, looks like you had a great day yesterday!

Suddenly, I'm feeling a bit badly for having nothing but cherry print fabric and a 1940s apron pattern (2, actually, one for me and one for my dtr) all in a p.i.l.e. in my sewing room. They were supposed to be made up for Valentine's Day. Ooops. The picture is really cute though.

Your aprons ROCK, girl. You're inspiring me. Better watch out. I always forget to wear my aprons, so you've not only inspired me to dust off the sewing machine, but to actually protect my clothes while homemaking. What a concept.

I'm a little scared about sewing that which is not in a straight line (quilts). But I'll persevere.

Girl, I LOVE these..I have an apron from my great great grandmother I bet you'd love!

May I just say I totally covet your arms?!! They are so lean and beautiful! And, I love your "pageant" stance it the doorway pic..so cute! ;)

I hoping to dust off my sewing machine this summer!!

Oh I wish I knew about this sooner. I have a cute apron that seriously makes people giggle when they see it on me. I think I resemble Lucille Ball just a little too much. Just think lots of ruffles...but I love it and it puts me in a fun and playful mood at that time of day that I used to call "torture" (the hour before dinner).

I have loved aprons ever since reading a post about them on hillbillyhousewife.com.

Did you make all those cute aprons? I loved the pink and brown one! I have to remember to add a few to my kitchen wardrobe this year.

I didn't know about this! I wish I had seen your blog yesterday :(

I have a really cute shades of cobalt and green plaid number from the old Dansk store.

I guess you have to own an apron to participate in this day, huh? I don't own a single apron. My girls do though, weird? Probably b/c I'm so scattered brained I'd forget where I put my apron? Maybe I will treat myself to one soon. . . maybe or maybe I'll just buy a new pair of shoes instead? Hee!hee!

Ok - I am late posting on aprons, but I have been quite busy lately. I L-O-V-E aprons - for pretty much the same reasons as you. Plus, they help keep your clothes clean! I would so like to learn to use the sewing machine that I will soon get out of storage - and how to make even a plain apron - or just some pleats...if you ever want to do an apron sewing class - please invite me!
