I collect all of the change in the van and in the bottom of my handbags and keep it in a jar until I have something I want to splurge on. Then, I head to the Coinstar & hope for the best. I'm always surprised at how much that spare changed ends up being.Chelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17391305754770198069noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14425061.post-86946204465382475522008-07-14T12:25:00.000-04:002008-07-14T12:25:00.000-04:00I very rarely use cash. When I do though, I am like the Mister in that I avoid getting pennies back in change if at all possible.

Here's a secret though: I'm not so great at math. Couple that with the fact that I normally have at least two children running around when I am paying who tend to distract me a bit. So, sometimes my efforts to end up with less pennies don't really work out so great, but I try. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14425061.post-16090882004161140712008-07-14T02:03:00.000-04:002008-07-14T02:03:00.000-04:00I'm a no-cash girl, so I rarely have change!I'm a no-cash girl, so I rarely have change!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14425061.post-44487479990725408002008-07-13T20:03:00.000-04:002008-07-13T20:03:00.000-04:00Being strategic about making change would require ...Being strategic about making change would require me to do a lot of math in my head, which I try to avoid at all costs. :) So, no. We actually sponser a ministry call Love-A-Child and we have a change box in our kitchen where we put all of our spare change. When it is full, we cash it in and then send it the ministry. I first got involved in this through my mother-in-law. This money supports children who live in Haiti who eat mud b/c they are so hungry. I read my children a story about these kids. My chidren were so moved they immediately went all over our house looking for change - under the sofa, under the cushions, in the junk drawers. You name it, they looked. The result? $77 in change just lying around our home when there were people out there starving. I was so convicted!!! So that is what we do with our extra change. I try to put it in our change box ASAP so that we are not tempted to spend it.Michelehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16946473078251300151noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14425061.post-8631285897539161092008-07-13T10:15:00.000-04:002008-07-13T10:15:00.000-04:00I'm like you--I use change when it will come to th...I'm like you--I use change when it will come to the exact amount so I can get back dollars. Me not so much. I usually have no cash or change (I pay with plastic.)

BTW- I actually liked the 5th grade. I remember it being pretty uneventful which was good for me. However, I also don't mind collecting the leftover change and throwing it in a jar...every couple of months I roll it up, and I'm always amazed at how much we've accumulated. So, I can't say I give it as much thought as your hubby does. :)Jackie https://www.blogger.com/profile/06689420082726915164noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14425061.post-15958895145507162282008-07-12T12:38:00.000-04:002008-07-12T12:38:00.000-04:00Well since I never have cash..
