Hooker of the Crochet Kind

Its been a full week here at the La Vida house, but last night I was finally able to sit for a minute.

After the kids were in bed and the dishes were done I had two options:

      1. Log on and catch up on a weeks worth of unread blogs in my reader.

      2. Sit on the couch and catch up on two episodes of Glee while working on crochet.

I chose number 2.

Back in the day I used to babysit a little girl who had to have like 354 random things with her when she went to bed at night.

I sort of felt that way as I gathered supplies last night.

I had to have my bottle of water, my good scissors, my latest crochet book from the library, a plethora of hooks (minus the ones that were left sitting by the computer table and on my bedside table...I have a little problem with starting many projects at once), and a sampling of yarns from my office. (I had to bring what I wanted into the T.V. room because I don't have a DVR in my office.)

You might say, You know Kellie, they sell bags to carry around your yarn and supplies.

That would be true, but if it's in a bag, then I can't see it.

I have a tendency to forget what I have if I can't see them all laid out.

Its a sickness, I know.

Today I thought I would give you a pictorial of my crafting compulsiveness when it comes to crafting and vegging all at the same time.

As a side note, the red and white roses I made on accident last weekend. The Mister and I were watching TV and I was just practicing, you know - single crochet here, double crochet, there - when all of a sudden I looked down and it was a rose!

I was thrilled!  I thought I might be a crochet savant!

Unfortunately I have been unable to make it happen again.  Which is such a drag.

I'm hoping to get some more done this weekend...it should be a nice easy one, before we gear up for another wild and crazy week!

What are you up to this week?

Happy Friday!

To answer you question, "What are you up to this week?"

NOT ENOUGH. We're moving in 59 days, I have closets to clean, drawers to go through, toys to sift, and I'm on the computer. Blah. No ambition.

I loved your crochet diagram. I have lots of UFOs (unfinished objects). I usually get bored with what I'm doing and get the itch to work with a new color, new texture of yarn, new hook or needles. It's a general feeling of dissatisfaction. How can I teach contentedness to my girls when I can't even be content with a crochet project?!

I'd like to know how you made that poster-looking thing. Almost as impressive as a crocheted rose!

And what am I up to this week?

Having a baby!!! Kind of a big one for me. :)

Hooker of the Crochet Kind? Catchy!

Are you liking Glee? I'm not loving these back-nine episodes as much. Didn't like the one this week much at all.

Is there anything you can't do?? I was impressed with all the crocheting, and then you went and did a faincy little Photoshop number.

Love the picture!! I started making granny squares for an afghan, too! A year and a half ago. I think I made 12. It's a little blanket.

I continue to thoroughly enjoy your posts! I hate it when I do something great and then can't get it to work again..usually that happens to me on the computer. In order to blog, I gave up tv watching, the catch is that since I'm not watching TV in the evenings, I never get any knitting done anymore!!! oh, woe is me!

You are the coolest hooker I know :)

I want to learn to crochet, but my husband will KILL ME if I start one more hobby... :)

You make me smile! I love hearing how your mind works! I actually have crochet hooks and a book telling me how to crochet but that is as far as I have gotten. Maybe you will inspire me. Maybe. (:

Tee-totally unrelated to your post, I just saw this recipe and after reading the comments leading up to it...well, let's just say that no one who knows you could read the comments and NOT think of you:

Couldn't see your pictures when I read from my cell last week. Love the roses!! I, too, carry every possible thing with me before I camp out for crafting. I carry around lots of "just in case" stuff for almost every activity.

I love the picture explaining it all!:) And cute roses, I can't believe you just made those accidently. You'll definitely have to figure out how to do those again. They'd be so cute attached to something like a clutch purse or maybe in your girls hair:) I just love little flower embelleshments if you can't tell:)

The title alone drew me in...;)

I have to admit I am a knitter and am also obsessed with having all manners of yarn and needles within reach at any given time. I find that having a big, open basket is helpful. I have all of my current projects in there (plus some extra yarn and needles.). If I want to move to a different room, I just grab the basket and go. Hope this is helpful! Also, I love the roses!
