Post 1001

Good morning!

What a beautiful day it is here in NC. It's a little cool, but the weatherman promised a bit of sunshine by this afternoon.

It's a busy time here at the La Vida house.

The Mister has been adding on to my garden (can't wait to show you pictures of the finished work...its amazing y'all!)

I have a feeling that it will be my most happy hang-out place this summer.

I planted vegetable seedlings this weekend: Tomato, bell pepper, yellow onion, zuchini, cucumber, sweet pea,  watermelon and several varieties of lettuce. I'm excited because I am going to try my hand at hay bale planters this year.

This afternoon I will be planting Peony, Lily, and Ranunculus bulbs for a little summer time color in the front yard.

How I love to play in the dirt...

But let's get to what you came here for....

The Give-Away:

Today you can comment-to-win this:

A full-size handmade apron in spring-like colors!

And if my high-priced, special-weight bobbin thread (apparently Clinton only likes 90wt thread?) arrives on time, I will monogram the winner's name on it too).

Here's what you need to do:

1. Yesterday I mentioned the Three Degrees of Meredith Bacon. I would love to know how you know her, or if she has made a "connection" for you on the web. For instance, I "met" Mer when I lived in Arizona. When I moved to NC, she emailed me and said to check out the Carpoolqueen , who also lives in NC. As I have gotten to know other bloggers, it turns out there is often a Mer Connection. So, tell me if you have one.

2. If you don't (or if you told me yesterday), then tell me why you would like a new monogrammed apron?

Again, I will use the Random Generator on Sunday and post results on Monday; you don't have to be a blogger, but you do have to have a valid email address. Spammers will not be included.

I "met" Mer through Joanne (The Simple Wife).

I would like a new apron because it is so hard to find them in stores and I don't have a apron but I want one.

(ok trying this again, your comment thingy is giving me attitude!)

I know Mer form here or you from there, where I also know Jewels in my Crown from here or there, who also knows you.

Make sense?
:) he he!

I think I "met" her thru Barb at A Chelsea Morning. Or maybe thru Barb's niece, Sarah @ In the Midst of it.

And I want that apron b/c I know the quality of your work and b/c YOU made it. And I can even say I've met Clinton IRL, so it would even be special-er b/c of that.

Meredith Bacon. That makes me giggle.

John was my pastor for awhile, and Mer and I became good friends. So I actually started out REAL-LIFE buddies with Mer.

Then I saw her again when I went to Denver for a visit and she talked me into blogging, so I did....and the rest is history.

Tha apron is to.die.for.

Mer and I went to the same college. It was a very small school so I knew who she was but I don't think we ever hung out. We became FB friends and bonded over my winter weather questions, one message led to another, I started reading her blog, and here we all are today.

Who all am I connected to because of Meredith? Good grief! How long do you have? Well, you, Tiffani, Gretchen, PilotsWife, and HisGirlAmber. I'm not sure if I found Cathy from Oregon through Mer or not. I feel sure I'm missing someone. Who am I missing?!

You and Clinton are such a great team!!

I keep getting stuck on BACON. Oh dear.

My connection goes a little something like knowing Whimzie IRL to becoming a CPQ friend and then lateral from there to you and Meredith. Love this blogging world of ours!

And I SO need that apron. Okay, so maybe I just WANT it, but I kind of collect aprons and I don't have a monagrammed one. Would certainly be wonderful.

:)

Glad I got to comment on this post.

Happy 1001!

I can't remember if I told you how I "met" Meredith yesterday or not...I've slept since then. I found her through Whimzie who I "met" through my friend from college and because I knew Whimzie's brother...Is that clear as mud? :)

I love aprons...I have them hanging on my wall in my kitchen...I need one or Spring. Currently I have a Christmas and Thanksgiving apron.

I have never had an apron it would be cool to have one:)

I am sorry to say that I don't know Mer...does an Arizona connection count?

However, I really could use this apron; I especially could have used it last night, considering I made our Thanksgiving in March dinner (see my blog today)

Love, Me :)

I haven't ever met any fellow bloggers IRL, but I surely do need an apron. Both of my girls have them, but amazingly I'M the messiest one of the 3 of us when we bake! :) Have a great day!

I don't know Mer or CPQ, but I have met some great people through other people I know, either from blogging or facebook, or a combination of the two.
But, seriously, I need an apron. I have to make my son's snack for preschool. So, when you send me the apron, can you send me a recipe for a healthy snack that 19 four-year-olds would enjoy? Please.

I met Mer through a sister of a friends blog. And that's how I found all of "you"...you know - "the circle"...like Whimz, Gretch, Amb, Tiff, CPQ, YOU, etc etc.

And the apron?? Well, as stinkin' cute as that thing is, it's SURE to help me get my cook on!

I'm gonna have to say that you are the connection between Meredith and I. That counts right? Thanks for introducing us to her blog though, it's very interesting:)

Cute apron. I love aprons. I love to feel like I put on my uniform and I'm ready for work:)

Ohhhh! A Kellie apron - those are the best!

So, I don't remember how I "met" Mer, but I've been reading her for a long time, and I love her to pieces.

Thanks, Kellie!

ooo, can't wait to see pics of the garden! I need some tips! And I would love your new apron because mine is red with a Christmas picture :( If I win yours, i will wear a strand of pearls with it.

Mer and I are college friends who are more friendly now than we ever were in college.

Not that we weren't friendly then, we just didn't know how much fun we'd have together had we tried harder.

And are we still getting together tomorrow or are you feeling yukky? I might have to snag that apron out of the craft room while I'm there :)

I don't know Mer. I guess I "met" her through your blog yesterday :-). I would love that apron for several reasons:
1. It is super cute!
2. My friend Kellie made it and everything she makes is beautiful...well everything that she makes and puts on her blog at least
3. *hanging head in shame* I don't have an apron :(

Super cute! I need to win that apron because...I don't own any aprons..at all!!

I would love a new monogrammed apron so that I can wear it proudly when I am cooking or when I am (after the plants that we just put in the ground this week are bearing veggies) cleaning and preparing my veggies from my garden to freeze or to can.

Tiffani said...

I think I told you yesterday...but I came across her blog right after I started blogging and she was the first outside of you and my family to comment on my blog! The rest is blogger history!

That apron is presh-us. I must have it! ;)

Hi Kellie!
I met Meredith through The Dirty Shame and I met you, CPQ and several others thru Mer. I haven't introduced myself to you before now, but I've been reading your blog for a couple of months so I'm (according to Meredith) "de-lurking" now.
All the best on your next 1000~ congrats!

I love the apron! I would like it because a girl who loves to cook as much as I do can NEVER have enough aprons. ;)

btw: I still have fabric to send you! It's been a crazy week around here. Hopefully I can get to the post office today.

I'm so excited about your garden! I have seedlings/sprouts on my window sill & am itching to get my hands (when they are healed) in the dirt!
I found Mer through NewEveryAM & really enjoy her blog.
I think the apron is beautiful! And I do wear an apron, but I have one with "Mimi" monogrammed on it (from my sweet grands), & one that I got from my BFF (then) 35 years ago that I STILL wear. And best of all, because I know you make beautiful things & it would remind me of you every time I wear it.

I just got done telling Mer that I can't remember how I "met" her. Maybe through Joanne (Simple Wife) or Holly (CrownLaidDown).

And then somehow a few months ago, I met Whimzie, Amber, Gretchen and Tiffani. LOVE them!

And I collect aprons!!!

This lurker loves your aprons. They're so cute and stylish...I would love to win one. I don't think I've met Meredith but she sounds like a great person :-)

Becca @ My Crazy Good Life said...

I didn't have a connection to Meredith... but she's in my reader now, so I guess I actually do!

The apron? Because you made it. And because it's got my favorite color in it :)

When I first started blogging and you commented on my blog . . I think Tiffani came to your blog, then from your blog went to Mer's blog. She told me about it. . .Meredith is precious!!!

The apron is adorable!

I don't know Mer, but it sounds like I should. Eager to see your garden pics!!

I need a new monogrammed apron to get out of my "I-don't-feel-like-cooking-dinner" slump. :-)

While I'm sure the giveaway portion of this post is over, I just have to add a comment about Meredith. I met Mer our first year in college, and she was and is a fantastic friend! 20 years later we've reconnected through facebook and her blog. Through Meredith, I've met CPQ (don't know how I didn't know her in college...it was a pretty small campus) whose blog I read like an addict and occasionally pop in with a comment. I don't know that I'll ever have time to keep up with a blog myself, but I definitely enjoy reading yours and theirs. Congratulations on 1000 + posts!

Oh, I do believe a new apron would get me out of the cooking funk I find myself in these days.

Hugs!!
