Random Wednesday Questions

(Swiped from Jewels in My Crown Someday , because I am at a total loss of something to say!)

1.. What's the last state you visited other than your own? Whidbey Island, WA...Yay! Island Girls!

2. What's your middle name? Lillian, after my maternal Grandmother's middle name.

3. What is something you don't like...even though everyone else seems to? (I hate to even type the bad, bad "M" word) Mayonaisse

4. What's the first costume you remember dressing up in for Halloween? Princess Leia---the super cool plastic one with the formed plastic face mask with elastic string!

5. Have you ever played a sport? Yes, Ballet. No just kidding...I know (now) that dance is not a "sport". But I was never good at sports as a kid....actually I was too busy being girly to worry about sports.

6. What is a talent you have that people might not know about? Hmmm....that is hard. I can tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue? Oh! and i can sing every word to nearly every Barbra Striesand song.  I LOVE me some Yentl.

7. What's the last thing that made you laugh out loud? Last night at ladies bible study our friend Sandra made us all laugh like crazy!

8. Are you an oldest, middle, or youngest child? I'm the oldest.

9. What's the best thing you've had someone say to you lately? Just now I got a text saying I was a good friend...best compliment in the world. Its hard to be a good friend and I know I am not always successful.

10. What are you wearing right now? Black pants and Pink shirt with my fuzzy purple jacket...I'm freezing!

Ballet is a sport - I think the plie is just a fancy word for "lunges".

Well, whoever texted you that information knows of whom she speaks. You're fab.

And can we talk Barbra? Only my voice teacher,my minivan and Jenny have heard me, but i worked on the Barbra song, "He Touched Me" for my voice lessons all summer. One day I'll hit the big time--I just know it.

Love the name Lillian as either a first or middle name. Because it's an older, elegant name. Makes me think of quilting. (contented sigh) and of watching Little House on the Prairie (another sigh)--before they changed it and made it the new show that nobody liked. Well, I liked it a little.

Maybe you can dress as Princess Leia this year. I bet the Mister would like that. :)

I love these kinds of lists! I love peeking into the little things about everyone's lives. So much fun.

Oh...and dance is SO a sport.

I think tying a cherry stem in a knot with the tongue should be an Olympic sport.

Great questions and answers! I started giggling as I read about your costume! I totally remember the Princess Leia mask! Too funny!!

You know Barbara. I know Karen Carpenter.
We're both showing our age. :)

I just found your blog this week and I love it! I agree that ballet is a sport. I've personally never done it, but my daughters do and I see all the older girls working their rears off in there. Definitely a sport.

I think I was meant to read this post today because I just happen to be wearing black pants with a pink shirt. No fuzzy purple jacket though. :)

Hey...I'm the oldest, too! I have two younger sisters. Under "first born" in the dictionary, you will see my picture. :D

How long did you dance? (of course ballet is a sport, just get a load of the muscles on the dancers!)

Still reveling in my outing Saturday night..it's helped me get through this not-so-great week. So, thanks again!

I hope you don't mind, but I copied & answered this on my blog. I think these are so fun & really give us new insights into one another. At least 2 or 3 of my family (I think G. is one of them) can tie the cherry stem with their tongue, but I CANNOT! I can't wiggle my ears either like certain ones in my family; I can't do that loud whistle with my fingers to my lips; I'm just not very talented in those areas. Thanks for giving us a fun glimpse into "you"!

You ARE a good friend! I went to a Fall Festival last night and Star Wars is still a popular costume choice. One of my own sons went as Darth Vader. However, as far as the girls go, not a single Princess Leia. Oh how sad, I do love me some bagels on the side of my head. I think she was replaced with Hannah Montana, no mask, just the wig.

Ever considered "America's Got Talent" with that cherry thing? I can imagine the judges faces as I write! I'd vote for you. Who knows, if the cherry thing doesn't work out maybe one of Bab's songs would!

Don't tell my B that ballet is not a sport. She gets pretty fired up when her soccer friends tell her that. She thinks having to do jumps for 3 minutes straight is about as athletic as one can get.

I bet you are a great friend. I can see that in you for sure.
