Linky Love

Friday mornings are my favorite....such anticipation for the weekend!

Especially this weekend as we have some fun things planned.

My personal plan includes some reading. I finished my last book (a Biography on Harriet Tubman, she was an AMAZING woman!), and my nightstand was empty. Crazy, I know.

I went to the library yesterday and got The Lovers Knot, The Kite Runner, and Matters of Faith.

(I know I'm the last person on planet earth that has yet to read The Kite Runner.)

Thankfully Gretchen had those books listed on her Five Star list (on the right have side of her blog), other wise my weekend would be totally boring.

I had asked a BUNCH of people for their book recommendations this summer, but failed to write them down. BIg mistake on my part, since I hardly remember my own name from day to day, much less authors and titles.

So if you have a book that you think I would enjoy, let me know!

Maybe you have read the books listed above.... well if you have a daughter than may I suggest this article?

And if you need a laugh, may I suggest this video?

And if you want to be a part of something fun on October 25th, please visit here!

Happy weekend!

You will love the Kite Runner. It is probably the best book I have read in a long time...but gut-wrenching, I must warn you.

Have a great and safe weekend.

I've never read the Kite Runner. Never even heard of it. Probably won't ever read it, either. So, no fear. You are not the last!

We have a bookshelf in almost every room of our house full of many books I haven't read but for they seemed to be mostly nonfiction and I need to read fiction before I go to bed. (Why do we have so many nonfiction books? That's not even my favorite!) I'm supposed to be reading Fountainhead but I wasn't in the mood.

I'm the last person on the earth who hasn't read Peace Like a River by Leif Enger so I'm going to try to buy it this weekend. I enjoyed The Kite Runner. Wait. "Enjoy" is the wrong word because it's not a happy book but I would highly recommend it just the same.

I'm trying not to pout about the October meet-up. So far I haven't been very successful.

I have not read the Kite Runner yet either! I hope you have a fun weekend of reading. I am leaving for the beach tomorrow so I will be getting a lot of reading done.

I hope you have a great weekend :-)

I SO want to read the Kite Runner.

In all of my spare time. ;)

Gonna give CPQ a ginormous hug tonight to bring back to NC to you.

Yea for Dara Chadwick!!!! That was such a tremendously refreshing article/blog link to read and I just have to say I agree 100%. It has really become ridiculous, this pressure we put on ourselves for perfection!

Once upon a time I had someone tell me that "I would be so pretty if only..." and the crazy thing is, it still floats into my memory on occasion when I get ready in the morning though it was said about 22 years ago by a catty girl in highschool.

(Funny thought...just thinking about the list of imperfections she would have on me NOW! HAHA)

I haven't read "the Kite Runner" either. I tried, but got completely bored. Don't hate me. :)

Book recommendations: anything by Rachel Hauck or Kimberly Stuart. I LOVE their books!! They're light, funny, witty and challenging all at the same time. Perfect summer reads. (Yes, I know summer is ending, but I'm in denial.)

I really enjoyed the Kite Runner. It was intense, but I could not put it down.

I just finished Little Children and loved it! In fact, I just mentioned it on my blog.

My book club and Bible study both read The Shack. It will feed you spiritually. (The non-believers hated it.)

I also recommend The Lovely Bones and The Thirteenth Tale. Pillars of the Earth was silly, like a Medieval soap opera, but very fun to read.

Oooh, look at all these delicious recommendations I'll have to bookmark!

Hope you enjoy your weekend and your reading, friend.

The article is spot-on. It's a daily struggle to be okay with being who we are and whose we are in a world which doesn't celebrate that. But so worth it.

No recommendations right now. Just popping in to say I'm at a house with a computer and I'm catching up on blogs.

Hope the rest of your weekend was lovely.

I don't have any recommendations either... I am, however, all caught up on your blog and am now missing you and your amazing tender heart and great sense of humor...

The Kite Runner was just so-so for me, but you may love it. :)

I guess you're not the only person to have read the Kite Runner - I haven't either! I'm putting that on my mental library list right now.

I'm reading Peace like a River right now, thanks to Mer's suggestion. His writing is so lyrical.
