Bullet Point Tuesday

-I'm really not looking forward to going to get my teeth cleaned today. Going to the dentist is not my fave, but it isn't the worst thing either...What I DESPISE about the dentist is the list of stuff I am certain to have to taken care of...and the cost of getting it done.  That makes me need a valium.

~Got The Shred Workout in the mail on Saturday. At the risk of losing all my Shredding readers, I  l-o-v-e it.  I was skeptical as to the claims of a hardcore 20-minute routine, but its a really great workout. The only thing that made me want to chuck it into the trash can was the tag line on the cover: "Lose 20 pounds in 30 days".

What and Ever.

Ya'll, honestly, if I had paid any attention when I ordered it online, I probably wouldn't have bought it, because its such a lie

Unless you have several hundred pounds to lose (and are under a physicians care), there is no HEALTHY way to loose 20 pounds in 30 days. I'm just keeping it real here...

~Speaking of choosing to remember the Truth... I was excited to see that Constance over at FindingBalance has decided to add some writers to her blog. If you haven't been over there in awhile, go check it out.

~Today I have to go to the dentist....oh wait, already said that....

~Thursday I leave for Michigan. I've never been to The Mitten, but I am so excited to go see meh and spent some time at her casa.

~The Mister is home all this week and I love it when he's home. He is actually getting his teeth cleaned today too. Isn't that romantic? A date at the dentist... Look, we take what we can get.

~Oh, for those of you with older kiddos (or are kids at heart yourself!) what are your favorite family board games?

We have Monopoly Jr, and Candyland, Scrabble, yahtzee, and a couple Cranium games (and several toddler type games), but I REALLY need to beef up our board games. Especially now that the kids are old enough to play like real people

I get overwhelmed in the board game isle at Target, so in the words of Carpoolqueen, Help a Sister Out.

What games do you and your family enjoy?

OK, that's it. Gotta go get dressed and ready for my date!

Am I the only person in the blogosphere who is not shredding?? Or pregnant. I'm not sure I want to join either camp, but I am feeling a little left out.

Board games: We're more of a "card game" family. We love Jenga, Uno, Dutch Blitz, Mancala, Poker. :) As for boardgames ... um ... The Farming Game makes an appearance at every family get-together. It's kind of a depressing agricultural version of monopoly. Yup. I got nothin'.

We like Sequence. I'm not a huge board game player (much to the chagrin of my family), but I will play Sequence cheerfully.

And sorry about the dentist, for drugs notwithstanding, it still gives me the willies.

We are big board game people over here. apples to apples is a favorite and right now Risk is. we also love mancala.

Love your new kitchen sink and faucet. I got the same faucet except in aged bronze!!! I am so loving it!

Agreeing with Carpoolqueen on Sequence. That's got to be one of my favorite games.

Hope you and your hubby have a romantic date at the dentist.

Blokus, Set, Scattergories, Life (electronic), Apples to Apples, and I'm sure I'm leaving something else out. I really want to buy Sequence after hearing Sus' rave review.

Have fun on your dental date. Though it doesn't sound like much fun. Go for smoothies or a shake afterward...that would totally redeem the day (and counteract the cleaning!) ;)

I am on the same hunt - for good boardgames. Can't seem to make a decision so I'll look at your list later :)

I started the 30 Day Shred too - not to lose weight but to exercise and feel better. It's really not that bad and I HATE exercise.

You just made me want to order "The Shred" and make a dentist appt.

Board games...Scrambled States of America,Password, Sequence States and Capitals....I just got Parcheesi at a garage sale. All that being said, I don't love to play 'em, but I do for the boys:)

I haven't played Sequence, but my dtr (10) likes it, and has played it at school.

Pausing to let the bitterness of her playing a game at school pass.

Okay...We like Pass the Pigs, which is like a quick gambling game with little pink pigs. It's fun, though, and works on those mental math (tallying) skills. We like LIFE, Mill Creek-Opoly. Seriously. One of our friends gave this personalized version of Monopoly to us as a gift, and other than using up all our printer's ink for making the money, cards, and title deeds, it's great! Though, I'm not pictured on the highest dollar amount. Boo. The properties are all familiar and fun because they're all part of our neighborhood and surrounding community (e.g. our library, Taco Bell, Starbucks, Target, Bank of America) Free parking is Quiet Time. :) And Going to Jail is visiting Poo Alley (poop scooping). We also like Zooreka. A little bit young (ages 7-11), but interesting and fun. Uno Attack is nice, and if you're Monty Python fans, Monty Python Fluxx is fun.

Hope your date at the dentist went well! My husband and I are big fans of Life, and I can't wait to play with my girls when they get bigger. Also excited to hear how the "shredding" goes.... :)

We have the children's version of A to Z, and we love it! Also like Uno, and it's cheap! Blokus. Scattergories. Zigity - a cranium game - is a hoot! Dutch Blitz.

Hope your romantic dentist date was loverly. I'm sure your teeth are.

We love any games made by Cranium. We have several of that brand, and the kids LOVE them. And they are games that the husband will actually play with the boys, too...which is a plus.

We like Monoloply, Pass the Pigs, and Phase 10. My boy is really into themed Monoloply games (such as Star Wars, or Monolopy World edition). Twister is fun and they now have a new type of Twister that is a cross between hop scotch and Twister. You can' beat the pigs though!

Maybe if you combine The Shred with the Special K diet?...but seriously, let us know how it works. I'll be needing it here in a few months.

I love going to the dentist, but I'm weird like that. I just think of all the gunk they scrape off my teeth and how much better my breath will smell b/c of it.

We're not much into board games, but I'll have to try Sequence since so many people mentioned it.

I just started Shred yesterday! Oh my word...I know I'm extra out of shape, but I am stumbling around my house with sore muscles. It was harder for me the second day than the first because I was hurtin'. I hope it gets better from here...but I do like it. Kind of. :)

Some family faves of ours are Balderdash, Scattergories, and Pictionarly. Now I can't wait to go home and visit my family so we can have a huge came night.

I grew up playing Rook, dominoes, Tri-ominoes and Rummikub...not really board games, but we had such fun around the table on holidays.

I just got a copy of Blokus for us at Target...gets GREAT reviews, and is for any age.
