Because I Can hardly Contain My Joy

Meet Joy, the Maltese puppy.

In this picture she is only 2.5 weeks old. She's older now, but this is the most recent picture we have of her.

She will be coming to live with us on Christmas Eve...

As a surprise gift to The Girl.

I am so excited about this new addition to the family that I have had trouble sleeping at night. Which is just as well since I will probably be spending the next 6 months getting up to take her outside in the middle of the cold Carolina nights.

Last night, my friend K2 and I, went Christmas shopping to find all the assorted puppy items that one needs: a crate, puppy toys, dog dishes, puppy shampoo, a collar and a leash.

I was on an all-out hunt for a pink collar and leash.

More ashamedly, a pink collar and leash that I plan to tastefully bedazzle with some beautiful rhinestones.

Yes, I own a Bedazzler.

I am also in the process of sewing up a puppy bed, and matching little girl/doggy capes. Pictures to come.

Y'all, I may have lost my mind.

But it's sure is fun!

that's so much fun!! I would love to get a puppy, but everytime I think about it, my husband reminds me how I swore never to potty-train two creatures at once. Yes, I am still potty-training "the boy." Going on six months here!! *sigh* Have fun with your bedazzler. :)

She is PRECIOUS! I am so excited for you. You won't believe this, but we have been looking into doing the same for our children. My husband spends most of his free time on the Internet looking for the perfect one for our family. Shhh! It's a secret though. However, ours is not written in stone yet. I am so excited for y'all. Can't wait to hear more about your new addition. Hopefully we will be putting a deposit on one very soon, and you can I can share doggy stories:)

Hee-hee-heee!!!!! What a handful you are going to have!! By the way, did you clear this through Kona? You may need to talk to the Dog Whisperer about how she can best be prepared for little "sister" horning in on the affection.

Aw.

Okay, okay. In spite of not having much of an affinity to dogs, I must admit that your new little addition is pretty darn irresistible. The girl will be so thrilled on Christmas Eve!

I remember the morning I got my puppy -- I was 8, and the puppy was so fat it couldn't get up the stairs, and me (being the non-morning person that I am) had to woken up by mom bringing the puppy upstairs to lick my face awake :D

I'm so excited for you and the girl... can't wait to see the piccies!!!

Oh, she's so cute!! There is nothing wrong with a little bedazzeling. I'm trying to remember all of my grammar rules but I just can't figure out how to spell bedazzeling. :)

Hi, Kelly! I'm so glad you stopped by today. I'm always so glad to see your avatar in my comments section! I have enjoyed catching up on your blog a bit this morning. And the puppy ... oh, the sweetness! We had a cat that disappeared a few years ago, and with the fourth baby on the way, I didn't feel we could get another one. But now that the baby is a little girl, I'm starting to want another. And yesterday in our preschool parking lot I saw a cat from a distance that I followed around to see if it just might be our long lost Tigger. I'm thinking we might need a surprise of the furry kind under our tree as well!
