It's Me, Isn't It?

A few months after we moved from our home in Texas my friends began to call. They were so excited because a new Starbucks was being built just down the street from my old house! I was so happy and so sad all at the same time! How could I have lived there for 6 years and have to drive all the way into town to get my fix...I mean, coffee...and just as I moved away they built one within walking distance of my front door? To add insult to injury, it was a drive-thru!

When we moved to beautiful NC I loved it immediately. The trees! The seasons! The people! But I did have one major complaint, there was not one Starbucks on my side of town. I complained about this for two solid years (the Carolina gals are nodding in weary agreement). But! I saved a lot of money in North Carolina. Starbucks is not easy on the wallet.

Yesterday I received an email from a dear Carolina Gal. And guess what? YES! I have moved and been gone for 3 months and a new Starbucks is going to open just a few little miles from my NC house! (which still hasn't sold, had I mentioned that yet in this post?)

AUUUGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

So here's the thing...I am beginning to think it's me.

OK...I gotta get off the computer. I need some caffeine.

The one near your unsold house is a drive-thru, too :-)

Is there one near your new home?

The problem is that you moved too soon. They realized there was a massive coffee addict that could keep them in business. (You know they do market research ahead of time right? I'm sure they saw the remains of your habit in the trash every week and knew they had a prize future customer nearby). So, they bought the land, made their plans, got their permits, and darned if right before the grand ground breaking ceremony their basis for business up and moved. Maybe you should write them now and tell them that you have no plans to move anywhere and they can go ahead and build without worries. You see, they've been trying.....

You can't possibly know how happy it makes me when you comment! It's even better than....S.....tarbucks! ;)

Yes there is a "Nieghborhood" coffee shop 0.72 miles from my house. And there is a Starbucks in the Safeway Store that is right behind that Coffee Shop. But for some reason I don't like the Starbucks that are "In" stores (Ii.e. Target and such other stores) becasue it just doesn't feel right to me. I know, I know I am weird.

Word around the 'hood is that the privately owned shop is actually better than the Starbucks so we shall see.

And Blue Skies, very good story there...It made me smile...but not as much as I would smile if you fed your blog. For goodness sake! At least post a picture of those precious girls for those who still check the 'ole blog from time to time! ;)

Kellie, I'm afraid it is so -- but in support of you, I'll try not to patronize it.
Lara, I tried to cave to the influence in college -- could only drink it when thoroughly disguised by chocolate.
We need to have a Kellie's blog-follower party. I want to meet all of you guys!

Kellie, In you honor I have decided to boycott the new Starbucks. It will be a real sacrifice on my part, you know how much I like the java, NOT!! :) I will only enter its doors when and if you ever move back. (I'll have the non-java drinks.) Hey, I want in on the blogger party! K2

OK...lets all meet at Kellie's for coffee on Tuesday. She should be mostly moved in by then. If we bring coffee, she won't care. And Lara, Kellie is right! You must update the blog a little more often. I don't have a blog but if I did have a blog, I would update it at least daily with quirky yet poignant insights that would move my readers to tears of sympathy or laughter or joy. That is my nod to Lady Catherine!

Hey Blue Skies, I just realized my oops...Kellie was jumping your case and not Lara's about the un-updated blog. How funny! And my comment to Lara applies to you too.

gee, I didn't realize anybody really looked at my blog. Now that at least two people have beaten me with a wet noodle I'll put it on my list for sometime soon. Even if to just post pictures. I've some cute little ballerinas that are begging to be seen.

Tuesday for coffee? I'll be there! There may be a few boxes and, I may even have a surprise on the old blog!

If you all would just get Hello Picasa (free download from google) we could have an online chat party with pictures and everything...Kellie and I already have it and use it to chat and send pics...its fun...the hard part will be deciding the time since we are spread across so many time zones...of course coffee helps mitigate this...come to think of it I don't know much that coffee doesn't help...Kellie I've found a new coffee I love..unfortunately it isn't any easier to comeby...it is coffee that Ray's family gave me that is made by Indians in Mexico...mmmmm good! I got it in a ziplock bag and I am rationing it like crazy!
